Senior Designer, AC Martin

A Project Director and Senior Designer with AC Martin, Tammy Jow has worked on some of the firm’s most significant projects.  Her diverse body of work includes the new Madera County Courthouse, the Campus Center at the University of Southern California, the Hollenbeck Replacement Police Station in Boyle Heights, and the Cal/EPA Headquarters in Sacramento.  She is experienced in all aspects of design and construction, with a particular skill in using her communication skills coupled with her architectural background to help all stakeholders translate their project goals to the design team and vice versa, explaining the design language in a way that can be easily understood by those without an architectural degree.  She is currently the Project Director on the Wilshire Grand Redevelopment Project.  In this role, she is responsible for coordinating the efforts of the entire design team, including a vast array of consultants, liaising with the client –Korean Airlines, and working closely with Turner Construction. Tammy received her Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Southern California, is a LEED Accredited Professional, and a vital member of AC Martin since 1996.

Brendan Murphy

Vice President, Turner Construction Co.

Brendan Murphy joined Turner in 1997 and brings over 20 years of experience in the construction industry to his position.  Murphy has been recognized throughout the construction industry for his notable leadership accomplishments. He successfully managed multiple high-profile projects including the $250 million Terranea Resort, Beverly Hills Hotel renovation and the new Great Wolf Lodge Garden Grove resort. He is currently the Project Director for the $1 Billion Wilshire Grand high-rise in downtown Los Angeles.

Murphy’s talent in leadership helped him grow quickly at Turner. In 2011, Murphy was named one of ENR California’s Top 20 under 40, which recognizes the top, young, construction leaders in California. In 2012, he served as Manager of Business Development, was promoted to Operations Manager for Turner Southern California two years later, and ultimately named Vice President and Operations Manager for the Southwest region of Turner.  Murphy graduated from Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Structural and Welding.

Todd Whisenhunt, S.E., P.E

Vice President, Thornton Tomasetti.

Todd Whisenhunt has been designing structures for a variety of building types since 2004. His portfolio includes high-rise residential and commercial buildings as well as higher education and cultural facilities. He is well versed in steel, reinforced concrete, and post-tensioned concrete structural systems. Before joining Thornton Tomasetti in 2012, Todd worked at engineering firms in Atlanta, Georgia, and Columbia, South Carolina.

Prior to his engineering career, Todd worked on his family’s farm in South Carolina and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Business and Mechanization from Clemson University in 1997. He returned to school in 2000 and earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at the University of South Carolina in 2002 and his Master of Science degree in Structural Engineering and Mechanics at North Carolina State University in 2004.

Active within the management structure at Thornton Tomasetti, Todd is the leader of the firm’s committee on structural engineering construction document standards. He is also a firm-wide technical resource in the design of post-tensioned concrete structures and has led the development of several in-house design tools and guidelines. He is a licensed structural engineer in Illinois and a licensed professional engineer in Georgia and South Carolina.
