Harkers Island Bridge Replacement
September 29, 2025, from 3-5 PM at Stewart Theater in Talley Student Union, NC State Main Campus. An industry reception, sponsored by the FRP Institute, will follow immediately after the lecture.
This event is free and open to the public! Engineers receive two PDHs for attending. Virtual attendance is also available.
Students are strongly encouraged to attend this lecture! At this lecture, students will have the opportunity to gain valuable insight into the field of civil and structural engineering, including technical design, construction, and business aspects. Many current practicing engineers have said that attending the Paul Zia Lecture as a student helped them find their focus within the broad field of civil engineering.

Immediately following the lecture, an industry cocktail reception open to all professional attendees will be held in the lobby outside of Stewart Theatre, made possible by the generous sponsorship of the FRP Institute.
Two Professional Development Hours (PDHs) for engineers are available for all attendees. The Lecture is not pre-certified with any state’s engineering licensing board, but leaves the determination of credit up to the attendee. Documentation of attendance will be provided at the end of the event.
