Adam is a seasoned Senior Project Manager with over 18 years of extensive experience in transportation infrastructure, spanning all phases of project development from preconstruction to construction. Throughout his career journey, Adam has demonstrated a remarkable ability to assemble and lead exceptional teams, resulting in the successful design and construction of world-class, award-winning projects.

Starting as a Carpenter and progressing through roles such as Project Engineer, Superintendent, and Project manager, Adam has gained a profound understanding of the intricate requirements necessary for the safe, efficient, accurate, and timely execution of projects. He thrives on tackling complex and challenging endeavors that demand a high level of foresight, meticulous planning, risk management, and effective communication with stakeholders to ensure projects are set on the right path towards on-time and on-budget delivery.

Adam’s notable contributions include serving as the Deputy Design-Build Project Manager for the construction of the new six-lane Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge (FDMB) across the Anacostia River. This multifaceted project involved intricate redesigns of local roads, interstate ramps, and traffic ovals, culminating in the replacement of the existing FDMB with a signature three-arch bridge. Adam also played a pivotal role in managing the design development of the new bridge, ensuring safety, quality, compliance, and schedule performance throughout the design-build process.

In addition, Adam served as a Project Manager on the expansion of the Metrorail system with the construction of the Silver Line, overseeing the design development and execution of the aerial guideway superstructure ahead of schedule. He also led the construction of the Tilikum Crossing, the first bridge of its kind in the U.S., which garnered several prestigious awards for its innovative design and impeccable execution. Adam’s expertise, leadership, and dedication have been instrumental in delivering high-profile projects that leave a lasting impact on transportation infrastructure. His commitment to excellence and proven track record of success make him an invaluable asset in the field of project management.

Ken Butler,

P.E., Director of Complex Bridge Practice, AECOM

Ken Butler, P.E., brings 39 years of design experience and national recognition for his performance on high profile bridge projects having been involved with the management, design, and construction of 30 major and complex bridges. He has been involved with the design of seven (7) cable-stayed bridges; ten (10) major river crossings; and two (2) bay bridges. He serves as director for the firm’s Complex Bridge Practice. Ken’s responsibilities include leading complex bridge projects as either technical director, bridge lead or project manager; and supporting project execution for all complex bridge projects ensuring that the best technical resources are utilized and made available from AECOM’s more than 500 bridge engineers. He was the Designer of Record serving as the design manager for the $453 million Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge project in Washington, D.C., and is currently the design manager for the $3.5 billion Brent Spence Bridge Corridor project in Cincinnati, Ohio.
