An expert in bridge design, design-build project management, and steel structure fabrication, Gang Jiao has spent over 23 years in project management, design, construction support, and fabrication supervision on major infrastructure projects in New York, California, Oregon and China. He joined Fluor in 2005.

He has been Tappan Zee Constructors’ Design Engineering Manager for the New NY Bridge Project since early proposal phase, shaping the winning design-build strategies and executing the design and construction. Gang has managed the design team, led by HDR, consisting of 35+ firms in 5 countries who produced 700+ deliverables in 18 months. He also has managed the 

construction engineering team consisting of 50+ engineers from joint venture partners plus additional staff from 15+ consulting firms who helped developing 800+ Construction Work Plans, and the survey team with 100% DBE participation to support the construction and field erection of the entire bridge.

Gang’s prior project experience includes the San Francisco Oakland Bay Bridge where he supervised the fabrication of the orthotropic bridge girder (OBG) superstructure of the largest self-anchored suspension bridge in the world at Zhenhua Heavy Industry, Inc. in Shanghai, China. During the fast-paced Oregon Delivery Bridge Program Gang supervised all bridge load ratings for the program to assess the existing bridges’ condition and develop the overall scope for the project. He is a licensed professional engineer in California who earned his Master of Science in civil engineering from University of Nevada, Reno and his Bachelor of Science in civil engineering at Tongji University in Shanghai, China.
